Do We Have A Need For Validation?
Today I was wondering if humans have a need for validation and as I was thinking I realized that all things perhaps have this need. For us it does feel good to be told by others that we're doing a great job. When we've accomplished something, it's great to get that pat on the back, be recognized, seen, and appreciated for our efforts in whatever we've produced, accomplished, learned. It's like saying "They see me, they see what I've done and they like it." And, this feels good. If we enjoy this feeling of validation, perhaps others like validation too, so we could remember to give others those pats on the back to let them know we've also seen what they are accomplishing. My thoughts didn't stop there. I thought of how we compliment our animals when they are doing well. They too seem to love a little praise for their efforts. And how about plants, trees, and natural things? I am sure they too love it when we notice them. "You are growing so well, or you look so beautiful in the garden" are compliments that might cause our plants to grow even more. We've noticed them and they appreciate that. When we notice others, or animals, or plants, they feel better because we've SEEN them and validate their accomplishments. Acknowledgment, appreciation, and validation can be so uplifting for us all as we make our way in this life. Wishing you each a glorious day. Love and Light, Judi
