Can Illness Be A Teacher?

For me illness has been a great teacher. Illness certainly will grab your attention. Our bodies are trying to tell us something and the means of communication is illness in some form. A pain, a cold, an ache that won't go away in the neck, back, or a chronic illness, all are trying to get us to focus on something we need to learn, change, adjust etc. in some way. It's the body speaking in the only way it knows in my humble opinion. Yet so often we dismiss it's warnings and simply complain about our pain. The body knocks harder to get us to focus on the real problem. But what is the real problem? What is the body trying to tell us? For each the message is different. Perhaps one continues to have stomach problems and by simply adjusting what is eaten the problem will subside. Perhaps for another the situation is deeper than that. Working to peel back the layers of the onion, so to speak, may be required. We all hold emotions in and they can then fester, causing discomfort and thus, in time, illness. Working to release old trauma, emotional wounds, and blockages will allow the body to heal. This takes time and a lot of work. Self examination is often required to find the true bruises we continue to carry. Letting go of anger, resentment, fear, jealousy, and other negative emotions can clear the path towards wellness. With each old hurt we let go of, we free ourselves. Finding our way isn't always easy, but it is working towards wellness of body, mind and spirit and well worth the effort we invest in ourselves in my humble opinion. Wishing you all a path of wellness. Love and Light, Judi

You are right, Judi.
Illness does make it obvious to us that we are holding back issues, sentiments that need to go.
I remember how you guided me regarding me my abdominal pains...in the solar plexus...and also that last year we discussed a pdf book which had some insights into which illness points us in which direction.
I have forgotten the name/author...but yes, I agree with you .I wish we were always wise enough, or such great healers, that through healing ourselves, we heal the world too !
Maybe that knowledge requires a greater level of compassion, kindness, acceptance and forgiveness..
Hopefully, we are all getting there in these exciting times.

Warm Greetings Dear Minnie, Oh Yes, if only. We each progress at our own rate, and I think there are many at this time that are beginning to see the signs and listen to their inner voices for guidance. I feel the energy of many moving towards compassion, kindness, forgiveness, and acceptance as you say, but we certainly have many more to come. So, I think we are getting there, however slowly and yes, it makes this such an exciting time. Wishing you Love and Light, Judi

I am in the process of trying to understand and let go of painful memories. I am sure you are right about emotional pain resulting in much physical pain. If I can forgive others and especially myself, I believe I would feel so much better.

Warm Greetings Dear Mary, I too have been working on this in my life. We hold all that emotion in our bodies and store it. Negative trauma of all kinds can block us and in order to feel better we have to work at pealing back the layers of the onion so to speak. I've been working at it for some time now and also incorporating acupuncture to help with the blockages and releasing what is being held within to have a better chi flow and balance. Make any sense? Wishing you well my dear. We are all works in progress each with their own stuff to work through, yet coming together to discuss it can be very comforting. We aren't in this alone. Sending you many wellness wishes, hugs and Love and Light, Judi
